2020 - 2021 Scholarship Recipient

 

Ms. Blair Abernathy

Wildlife & Fisheries Biology

Clemson University Bridge 

Ms. Blair Abernathy is currently a freshman in the Clemson University Bridge Program. She is seeking a degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Biology with a minor in Forestry. From a young age, Blair has "always held an inborn fondness for the great outdoors and noticed many types of habitat". Her natural curiosity led her successfully through a secondary education where she excelled as a leader within Future Farmers of America and Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Clover High School. Blair is an active community servant and has worked at the YMCA, Cana Plantation, and Penland Christmas Tree Farm. The South Carolina Vegetation Management Association Board of Directors is pleased to announce Ms. Blair Abernathy as the 2020-2021 SCVMA Scholarship Recipient.

2020 Scholarship Raffle Sponsors

A scholarship in the amount of $2,500 is available to a worthy individual majoring in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or natural resources at an approved university or technical college. This scholarship will be based on scholastic and achievement records. Priority will be given to South Carolina residents. Applications may be submitted by High School Seniors or University or Technical College Students. The $2,500 scholarship will be paid in two equal payments of $1,250 which will be made during the fall and spring semesters. This application must be submitted and postmarked no later than May 31, 2021 to the South Carolina Vegetation Management Association, Attn: Jennifer Gruber, P.O. Box 96, St. George, SC 29477.
